New York City. My parents were born in Cuba.
Being successful is a combination of leading a healthy work/life balance. We should always push ourselves to exceed our goals but also remember to take time for mental and physical wellness. I personally associate success with being able to enjoy everyday doing what I love and having a supportive group of family & friends.
My boyfriend and I have a “win board” on our refrigerator. Basically it’s a calendar that reminds us of what we are looking to achieve for any given month. We number a list of accomplishments from 1-10 and each day we write down our “wins” in a different color. At the end of each month we tally all the wins. It’s a fun way to not only challenge one another but to make sure we are getting shit done.
Self doubt is the biggest road block to self development. If you don’t at least try, you’ll never know what you are capable of. If you don’t make mistakes, you don’t grow. Always take a chance if it’s something you are passionate about. If it doesn’t go as planned, try doing it a different way. Take each day one at a time – never get ahead of yourself. As long as you’re persistent and consistent, you’ll get to where you need to be in life.
Honestly, coming from NYC I really wish that the homelessness epidemic would just disappear.
